On Sunday, June 23, 2024, the official website and X handle for the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime announced that the series will premiere in October 2024, i.e., in Fall 2024. Along with this announcement, the staff revealed five more cast members.

Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime is an adaptation of the fantasy light novel series, written by Tsukikage, and illustrated by Chyko. The novels were originally serialized on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website before Micro Magazine acquired the series. Later, Sol Press acquired the license, but due to the company going defunct, J-Novel Club attained the rights to publish the series.


Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime will be released in October 2024

As mentioned earlier, the official staff behind the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime revealed on Sunday, June 23, 2024, that the show will premiere in October 2024, i.e., in Fall 2024. In other words, the series will air alongside Re: Zero season 3 and other anime titles.

Besides that, the names of the five more cast members were announced. Fairouz Ali stars in the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime as Liz Smart, the sister of Ansem and Tino's teacher. Konomi Kohara voices Sitri Smart, described as Liz and Ansem's younger sister and Krai's childhood friend.

Tomokazu Sugita has also joined the voice cast as Ansem Smart, who is an elite capital knight. Other new voice actors include Kohei Amasaki as Luke Sykol and Aoi Koga as Lucia. Luke is described as Krai's childhood friend and the strongest fighter of the Capital, while Lucia is a magus.

These new voice actors will join the previously announced cast members, Kensho Ono as Krai Andrey and Miyu Kubota as Tino Shade. The comments from the new voice actors have also arrived on the official website, where they revealed their excitement to be part of the franchise.


Staff and the plot of the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! anime

Masahiro Takata directs the series at Zero-G studios, with Hideki Shirane in charge of the scripts. Masahiro-san is also listed as the sound director, while Saber Links is on sound production. Yosuke Isouchi designs the characters, while Ryohei Fujisaki composes the music.

Based on Tsukikage's fantasy story, the anime follows the story of Krai Andrey, the protagonist, who wants to retire from being a hunter because he realizes that he has no interest in that role. Together with his childhood friend, he climbs closer to his dream.
