Me & Roboco anime movie announced a new cast member - Mayumi Tanaka, Monkey D. Luffy’s voice actor. The announcement was made on December 21, 2024, during the Jump Festa event. This particular event was split into multiple stages and this anime panel was hosted on the Studio Stage of the event.
Mayumi Tanaka will be voicing the “Classic Battle Manga Roboco”. The voice actor has also lent her voice to the likes of Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, Krillin from Dragon Ball, and Kanna Kirishima from Sakura Wars. The stage also featured Shun Matsuo, the voice actor of Roboco, and Minami Tsuda who is Bondo’s voice actor.

As mentioned earlier, One Piece voice actor Mayumi Tanaka will join the Me & Roboco anime movie cast. However, she will have a minor role to play. While there is only one Roboco, chapter 157 of the manga introduces the concept of Roboco from multiple timelines.
Among the numerous iterations of Roboco, there exists a version of the OrderMaid that comes from a popular “Classic Battle Manga” that sold over 500 million copies. It is a clear reference to Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece.
Since the Me & Roboco anime movie features a “Luffy” version of Roboco, the production team added the voice-acting veteran to the star-studded lineup. The series also released a character visual for the "Luffy" version of Roboco. Here’s the main cast of the upcoming film:

Me & Roboco release details and other relevant information
Me & Roboco movie is set to release on April 18, 2025. The movie will be released in theatres across Japan. However, only select theaters will screen the upcoming film. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the rerun of the television series. The anime series’ rerun will be broadcast on March 25, 2025. The broadcast details will soon be revealed on their official website.
The panel also announced some exciting news for the manga readers. So far, the chapters have been compiled into 19 Tonkobon volumes. The panel announced that Volume 20 is set to release on January 4, 2025. Each volume consists of 10 chapters, and volume 19 covers till chapter 189. There are 25 chapters that haven’t been compiled in a Tonkobon volume. Therefore, fans can expect volume 20 to contain chapters 190-199.
