MF Ghost season 3 has been green-lit for production. This was confirmed with a teaser promotional video following the release of the second installment's final episode on Monday, December 23, 2024. The official staff has also unveiled a teaser visual to heighten the anticipation for the third season. However, no pertinent information regarding the sequel's release date is disclosed.

MF Ghost anime is based on the eponymous manga series about car racing by Shuichi Shigeno. The manga serves as a sequel to the Initial D, which explores a similar street racing theme. Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine has been serializing the manga since September 2017, with 21 tankobon volumes published thus far.

The series' second installment concluded on Monday, December 23, 2024, with a teaser promotional video, announcing the production of MF Ghost season 3. The short video teases the final race at The Peninsula Manauzuru, which will be seen in the upcoming installment.

Aside from the spectacular race scenes, the video captures the raw emotions of Kanata Katagiri and Ogata. In the PV, Kanata refuses to give up on his revenge to overtake all the cars and says the race isn't over yet.

Unfortunately, the teaser trailer hasn't revealed a release date for MF Ghost season 3 yet. However, the show's director, Toshihito Naka, shared a tweet to reveal that they (the staff) are working hard on season 3.

In addition to the promotional video, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the series has unveiled a teaser visual for MF Ghost season 3. The illustration depicts a scene from the MFG Round 3 The Peninsula Manazuru final race.

The previous installment premiered on October 7, 2024, on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other pertinent syndications in Japan, following the success of the first season, which ran for 12 episodes from October 2023 to December 2023. Crunchyroll streams both seasons on selected regions outside Japan.

Toshihito Naka directed the previous season on Felix Film, with Kenichi Yamashita in charge of the series composition and script. Akihiko Inari also helped with the scripts. Naoyuki Onda designed the characters as the chief animation director, while Akio Dobashi composed the music. The primary cast and staff members will return in the next season.


What to expect in MF Ghost season 3?

According to the teaser trailer and the visual, MF Ghost season 3 will explore the Peninsula Arc from Shuichi Shigeno's manga series, and will likely cover chapters 110 to 140.

In other words, the sequel will explore the final race at The Peninsula Manazuru. As such, fans can expect the upcoming installment's narrative to feature exhilarating races.
