Murder Mystery of the Dead anime announced with PV and visual

On Friday, September 20, 2024, a new website and an X (formerly Twitter) handle were opened to announce the production of Murder Mystery of the Dead anime. ABC Animation has streamed a teaser promotional video to reveal the anime's November 14, 2024, release date. The official staff has also unveiled a key visual.

Murder Mystery of the Dead anime is based on cosaic and Group SNE's experimental murder mystery "party" game of the same name. The narrative for the post-apocalyptic original game is set in a shopping mall after a zombie pandemic outbreak, which led to the civilization's destruction.

Murder Mystery of the Dead anime premieres on November 14, 2024

On Friday, September 20, 2024, ABC Animation's official YouTube channel streamed a promotional video to confirm the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime's adaptation, based on the eponymous game by cosaic and Group SNE. According to the short clip, the anime will be released on November 14, 2024.

Broadcast information has also arrived, according to which, the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime will air its episodes every Thursday from 1 AM JST, starting November 14, 2024, on Tokyo MX. After that, the anime will be telecast on ABC TV at 3:14 AM JST, on the same date.

Notably, the promotional video features the main characters in the anime's setting and previews their voices. The official staff has opened a new website and X account to share more information regarding the main cast members. Moe Kahara stars as Mikoto Amano, an incredibly cheerful girl who becomes friends with anyone.

Lynn lends her voice to Ranna Kuze, the leader of the Tower and a young lady with a firm demeanor. Kiyono Yasuno voices Yu Kodama, who loves to live in the present. Tsubaki Makino has joined the cast as Riri Aramaki, while Hikaru Tohno plays Murumuru's role. Madoka Asahina voices Rumina, who searches for her missing brother.

The staff has also unveiled a key visual that shows the main characters, with the shopping mall in the background. Ahead of its broadcast, the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime will hold a special live program on ABC Animation's official YouTube channel at 1 PM JST on September 23, 2024, featuring the voice actors, Yasuno, Kahara, Lynn, and Asahina, to share latest information on the anime.

Ryo Kawakami and Hideki Morikawa are involved with the original plan behind the anime. ABC Animation and Balus are credited for the show's production. Tomohiro Ishii handles the direction, with Giggle Akiguchi supervising the scripts. Teren Mikami is in charge of writing the show's scripts.

Murder Mystery of the Dead anime will follow the game's narrative and center around a post-apocalyptic scene. The original game is set in a mall after a zombie outbreak, which has turned the civilization upside down.
