On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, a leak from Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine issue #1 2025 cover revealed that My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 has been scheduled to air in 2025. The anime was announced two years ago in September 2022.

My Dress-Up Darling, written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda, first began serialization in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine in January 2018. Since then, the manga's chapters have been compiled into 14 volumes, with over 11 million copies in circulation. With CloverWorks having aired its first season in the Winter 2022 season, fans eagerly wait for its sequel.

The first issue of Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine 2025 was set to be released on Friday, December 20, 2024. However, the cover for the same was leaked out ahead of time.

As unveiled by the magazine cover, My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 is scheduled to air in 2025. The CloverWorks anime based on Shinichi Fukuda's romcom manga announced its second season in September 2022. So, after a two-year wait, fans finally have a release window for the anime.

Fortunately, right after the magazine was officially released, My Dress-Up Darling season 2 unveiled its new teaser visual through the anime's official website and social media handles.

The teaser visual features Wakana Gojo surrounded by countless Marin Kitagawa in her numerous outfits. These Marin(s) can be seen wearing her personal attires and cosplays created by Gojo.

Besides that, the Young Gangan magazine 2025 issue #1 also launched a new My Dress-Up Darling spinoff manga called "Bisque Doll de chu♥︎."

The teaser description is as follows:

"A school life full of cuteness and chaos begins!"

It is written and illustrated by Choboraunyopomi.

Fans' reaction to the leaked My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 announcement

Most fans were delighted to hear that My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 would be released in 2025. With that, they rejoiced about how stacked 2025 was going to be with a great number of anime to watch.

"We will be watching," one fan said.

"2025 will be a great year," another fan said.

"2025... 3 WHOLE YEARS after official announcement...The Elusive Samurai S2 better not air next air otherwise CloverWorks and UmeharaP will be cooked," other fan said.

"THATS ONE CLOVERWORKS ANIME FINALLY HAVING A DATE ANNOUNCEMENT LETS GOOOOOOOOO," another added.

Meanwhile, other fans were simply glad that they finally got a release window. This is because the anime had been announced back in 2022. Therefore, a two-year wait for any further information seemed far too long to them.
