My Happy Marriage returns after an 8-month hiatus on December 30, 2024
In April 2024, the My Happy Marriage manga went on a hiatus as the illustrator, Kousaka Rito, had to work on the series' artbook. The art book was released on August 10, 2024, by Square Enix (the same publisher as the manga).
Four months after the release of the art book, My Happy Marriage manga returned with its latest chapter, making its hiatus almost eight months long.
My Happy Marriage's light novel series has inspired many media projects, other than the manga adaptation, including a live-action (released on March 17, 2023) and a stage-play (released between August 11–20, 2023 in Japan).
However, the series' most famous media project is the anime adaptation. The first season of the anime adaptation was released in the summer of 2023, and it was animated by Kinema Citrus Animation Studio (famous for animating Made in Abyss). The season had 12 episodes, with its sequel set to start airing on January 6, 2025.
The main voice cast for the anime series includes Kaito Ishikawa (Jiji from Dandadan), who voices Kiyoka Kudou, and Reina Ueda (Haein Cha from Solo Leveling), who voices Miyo Saimori. Evan Call, the series' music composer, is famous for his music in anime like Violet Evergarden and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
