On Sunday, December 1, 2024, the official X account for the series shared a new promotional video for My Happy Marriage season 2. The short clip reveals the anime's January 6, 2025, premiere date. Additionally, the staff revealed the sequel's theme songs, a new key visual, and one more cast member.
Produced by Kinema Citrus, My Happy Marriage season 2 serves as a sequel to the previous installment, which aired 12 episodes from July 2023 to September 2023. The series is based on the romance-drama light novel series of the same name by author Akumi Agitogi and illustrator Tsukiho Tsukioka.
My Happy Marriage season 2's new trailer confirms the sequel's release date
The official staff shared the second promotional video on Sunday, December 1, 2024, confirming that My Happy Marriage season 2 will be released on January 6, 2025.
Broadcast information has also been announced, indicating that My Happy Marriage season 2 will air its episodes every Monday on Tokyo MX at 10:30 PM JST, starting January 6, 2025. The sequel will also debut on BS11 at 11 pm JST on the same date.
Besides these channels, Japanese fans can enjoy the series on KBS Kyoto every Tuesday at 12 am JST, starting January 7, 2025. Moreover, the romance anime will premiere on Sun TV and TV Aichi, and it will also be available on AT-X.
As previously mentioned, My Happy Marriage season 2 will stream on Netflix. However, the latest information hasn't revealed a release date for the show's digital distribution on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
The latest promotional video features Kiyoka Kudo and Miyo Saimori, showing their unique chemistry. Additionally, the trailer highlights other members of the Kudo family, including Yurie, Hazuki Kudo, Sumi, and others.
The short clip also previews the show's opening theme, Shiwase no Yakusoku (A Happy Promise), performed by Riria. On the other hand, Kashitaro Ito sings the ending theme song, Tsukikage Okuri (Moonlight Sending).
Besides the PV, the official staff has unveiled a new key visual for My Happy Marriage season 2. The illustration depicts Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudo, with Kiyoka gently holding Miyo from behind as they stare ahead.
The key visual features a beautiful cherry blossom tree in the background. The visual has a tagline in Japanese that reads "The arrival of turmoil, love that protects" in English.
Cast and staff for My Happy Marriage season 2
According to the latest information shared by the official staff, Haruka Tomatsu has joined the voice cast as Kaoruko Jinnouchi. The anime stars Reina Ueda as Miyo, Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoka Kudo, Kotaro Nishiyama as Koji, Ayane Sakura as Kaya, Hiro Shimono as Yoshito, Ryohei Kimura as Arata, Hoko Kuwashima as Yurie, Yuya Uchida as Naoshi, and others.
Masayuki Kojima, who previously storyboarded and directed an episode in the first season, has rejoined the series as the series director, along with Takehiro Kubota in the same role at Kinema Citrus. Ami Sato oversees the series scripts and co-writes them with Fuka Ishii, Misato Hashiba, and Momoka Toyoda.
Shoko Yasuda is the character designer, while Kuniyuki Ito serves as the sub-character designer. Emi Katanosaka is enlisted as the art director, and Masayuki Kurosawa is the editor. Takahiro Ikeda is the music supervisor, with MIRACLE BUS producing the music with Kinema Citrus and Kadokawa.
Since the first season covered the first two light novels from the series, My Happy Marriage season 2 will likely adapt the next two volumes and show Miyo finally meeting Kiyoka's parents. As such, the sequel will show Miyo facing new challenges.
