On Monday, September 23, 2024, Netflix unveiled the official trailer and key visual for My Happy Marriage Season 2. The promotional video also introduced fans to three new characters and their cast members. The anime will premiere in January 2025.
My Happy Marriage, written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsuhiko Tsukioka, is a light novel series published under Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi L Bunko imprint. The series later received a manga adaptation by Rito Kohsaka and an anime adaptation by Kinema Citrus. With the anime's first season released between July and September 2023, the second season will premiere in January 2025.
My Happy Marriage Season 2 unveils key visual and trailer
As unveiled by Netflix on Monday, September 23, 2024, My Happy Marriage Season 2 is set to be released in January 2025. This announcement was unveiled with a key visual and trailer for the upcoming season.
The new key visual features Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudou standing beneath a cherry blossom tree. Miyo herself could be seen wearing a kimono with a cherry blossom pattern. She evidently looks happy as Kiyoka gazes at her.
As for the official trailer, it opens with Miyo Saimori running toward a cherry blossom tree. Right after, Kiyoka could be seen apologizing to her, following which he expresses his love for her.
The trailer then introduces fans to the plot for the upcoming season. Tadakiyo Kudo, Kiyoka's father and the previous head of the Kudo family invites Kiyoka and Miyo to their home. There, Miyo meets Fuyu Kudo, Kiyoka's mother for the first time.
While Fuyu was harsh about Miyo's appearance, Miyo was determined to play her role. The trailer ended with the first appearance of Naoshi Usui. While his intentions are unknown for now, he does address Miyo as his daughter.
With the three new characters set to feature in the upcoming anime season, the anime also unveiled their cast members.
Ryoutarou Okiayu will voice Tadakiyo Kudo, Kiyoka's father and the previous head of the Kudo family. He has a gentle personality and looks forward to his son's marriage to Miyo. Ryoutarou Okiayu previously voiced Gadjah in Black Clover, Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach, and Kizaru in One Piece.
Kikuko Inoue will voice Fuyu Kudo, Kiyoka's mother. Her cold demeanor makes those around her tremble. She previously voiced Mirellia Q. Melromarc in The Rising of the Shield Hero, Shūko Komi in Komi Can't Communicate, and Minerva Orland in Fairy Tail.
Lastly, Yūya Uchida will voice Naoshi Usui, the founder of the "Gifted Communion," a sect that plans to overthrow society. Yūya Uchida previously voiced Charlotte Perospero in One Piece, Hendrickson in The Seven Deadly Sins, and Shun Shin Kun in Kingdom.
