On Friday, December 27, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for My Happy Marriage season 2 shared the main promotional video. Additionally, it is revealed that the main cast will appear in a New Year's special program on January 1, 2025. The series is set to premiere on January 6, 2025.

Under the production of Kinema Citrus, My Happy Marriage season 2 is a sequel to the previous installment, which released 12 episodes from July 2023 to September 2023. The anime itself is based on the light novel series by Akumi Agitogi (author) and Tsukiho Tsukioka (illustrator).

On Friday, December 27, 2024, Kadokawa streamed the main trailer for My Happy Marriage season 2 days ahead of the sequel's premiere (January 6, 2025). The anime's website and X account simultaneously shared the video with fans.

The trailer begins with Miyo Saimori visiting her fiance, Kyoka Kudo's house, where she meets his parents for the first time. Even though they all appear amiable, Kiyoka's mother doesn't seem to approve of Miyo.

In the trailer, Kiyoka's mother says she doesn't remember allowing Miyo to stay in her house. Although Miyo feels she isn't worthy of stepping into the Kudo household, she knows how much Kiyoka loves her.

The PV then transitions to Kiyoka Kudo discovering a new threat looming large. Kudo is determined to protect his loved ones while eliminating the threats as the commander of the special Anti-Grotesqueries Unit.

Aside from Kyoka and Miyo, the video features Kaoruko Jinnouchi (VA: Haruka Tomatsu) and previews her voice. Kaoruko vows to protect Miyo as her bodyguard. Additionally, the trailer shows Naoshi Usui plunging Kaoruko and Miyo into despair.

The latest trailer undoubtedly hypes up the plot for My Happy Marriage season 2. Additionally, the staff revealed that a special New Year's program for the series will be streamed on January 1, 2025.

The voice actors for Miyo (Reina Ueda), Kiyoka (Kaito Ishikawa), Godo (Hiro Shimono), and Kaoruko (Haruka Tomatsu), will appear on the program and look back on the first season's appeal.

My Happy Marriage season 2 stars Reina Ueda as Miyo, Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoka Kudo, Ayane Sakura as Kaya Saimori, Kotaro Nishiyama as Koji Tatsuishi, Hoko Kuwashima as Yurie, Hiro Shimono as Yoshito Godo, Yoko Hikasa as Hazuki Kudo, Ryohei Kimura as Arata Tsuruki, Yuya Uchida as Naoshi Usui, and Haruka Tomatsu as Kaoruko Jinnouchi.

Masayuki Kojima and Takehiro Kubota are directing the sequel at Kinema Citrus, with Ami Sato overseeing the series scripts. Ami Sato is also credited as the co-writer for scripts with Fuka Ishii, Momoka Toyoda, and Misato Hashiba.

Shoko Yasuda returns as the character designer, while Takahiro Ikeda oversees the music production. Riria performs the sequel's opening theme song, A Happy Promise (Shiwase no Yakusoku), while Kashitaro Ito sings the ending theme, Moonlight Sending (Tsukikage Okuri).

My Happy Marriage season 2 will pick up the adaptation from volume 3 of Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka's light novel series, and explore Miyo's life at Kudo household.
