My Hero Academia final volume set to be released in December 2024
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of My Hero Academia unveiled that My Hero Academia final volume will be released on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
My Hero Academia volume 42 is set to include 38 pages of original manga content that continues from the final chapter. This is an exclusive that can only be found in the manga volume. This means that the manga creator Kohei Horikoshi will effectively be expanding the epilogue part of the story and elaborating more about Deku's exploits as a hero powered by his support item.
As for the cover illustration of My Hero Academia final volume, it is inspired by the manga's first volume cover. The design has effectively remained the same with only the characters being replaced based on the new generation of heroes.
The new illustration sees Deku being replaced by Dai, All Might being replaced by Deku, and the Pro Heroes being replaced by the heroes who were once part of Class A in the U.A. High School. The odd part is that while the other Class A heroes can be seen in their hero outfits, Deku is shown wearing an All Might T-shirt.
How fans reacted to My Hero Academia final volume announcement
Most fans were left amazed by the manga cover illustration as it was an amazing callback, possibly making it the best cover in the series. Meanwhile, other fans were more concerned about the extra original content as they wished to see Deku's hero tech suit in action.
"What an amazing callback!," one said.
"This is the best cover ever," another added.
"Hope we get to see Deku's hero techsuit in action!," another fan said.
"I challenge you to find Sugarman lmao," other fan said.
However, something that caught the eye of many fans is how Rikido Sato, also known as Sugarman, was depicted in the My Hero Academia volume 42 cover. They found it funny how he was the only character whose face was hidden away under other characters' faces.
