The My Hero Academia manga has been a staple in the anime community since its release in 2014, driving the series and the anime as a whole into widespread popularity. Although the series' popularity and reputation have dwindled in recent years, its fandom has remained very active and vocal about their views on the series.
The manga rankings on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform have also been an integral part of the entire anime fandom, as they loosely represent the current popularity of various series. While the My Hero Academia series hadn't previously achieved a ranking within the top three, its final chapter provided the final push needed to surpass Boruto.

My Hero Academia manga finale hype gets stopped by Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man
My Hero Academia manga concluded with chapter 430, released on August 4, 2024. While opinions on the ending are mixed, the fandom has taken the opportunity to express their respect for the series, which has become integral to the popularization of mainstream anime since its debut in 2014.
Despite its overwhelming popularity and vocal fanbase, the series had not previously reached the top rankings on the MANGA Plus platform. The platform’s top three rankings were mostly dominated by Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Boruto, with One Piece and My Hero Academia manga typically occupying the fourth and fifth spots.
This ranking pattern remained consistent, with the top three series regularly swapping places. Although there were rumors about the release of My Hero Academia manga's final chapter crashing the MANGA Plus website, these reports remain unconfirmed.
However, the chapter did manage to propel the series into the top three, pushing Boruto down to fourth place. Despite this achievement, the final chapter did not reach the peak of the rankings, which are still held by Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen, and by a significant margin.
Chapter 430 marked the end of Kohei Horikoshi’s series, further widening the gap created by the completion of Demon Slayer. With Jujutsu Kaisen and One Piece also steadily approaching their finales, fans are increasingly curious about which series will emerge as the next mainstay of the shonen genre.
