Saturday, September 28, 2024, saw a new My Hero Academia season 7 key visual shared via the official X account for the overarching television anime series. The key visual in question features fan-favorite characters Himiko Toga and Ochako Uraraka ahead of the start of their climactic confrontation in the next installment.
The My Hero Academia season 7 key visual also features Toga’s clones of Twice in the background, as well as the black goop that makes them surround her. The visual comes ahead of the final string of episodes for the seventh season, of which the pair’s fight seems set to be a major focus given it’s one of just a scant few still ongoing.
New My Hero Academia season 7 visual sets the stage for Uraraka and Toga’s final fight with each other
The latest My Hero Academia season 7 visual features Uraraka standing front and center, her hands holding each other as they lay across her chest. She has a very serious look on her face, emphasizing how significant and meaningful this confrontation with Toga is for her. Above her stands Toga, her hands closing around Uraraka’s neck. Her face is clearly an angry one, but she’s also crying in the visual, highlighting how conflicted she feels in this fight.
The visual likewise highlights what their dynamic throughout the series has been thus far and how important their final matchup is. It’s essentially the last chance for either to achieve what they want out of the cat-and-mouse game of hero and villain they’ve played throughout the series. It’s also one of the most highly anticipated conclusions to such a plotline resultantly.
Both are also fan-favorite characters in their own right even foregoing the shared narrative arc they have with each other. This also explains why the fight is one that original series creator Kohei Horikoshi saved for last in this final war arc for the series. However, it’s unclear as of this article’s writing whether or not their fight will fully conclude by the time the seventh season ends.
If this isn’t the case, fans can expect their fight to be one of the first focuses of whatever follows the seventh season to continue adapting the series. Some are asserting an eight television anime season is possible, but this seems unlikely when considering how much source material is left. Likewise, most fans are of the mind that a movie will conclude Uraraka and Toga’s fight and others that are still ongoing by the time the seventh season ends.
My Hero Academia season 7 serves as the continuation of Horikoshi’s original manga series. Horikoshi’s manga began serialization in July 2014 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and recently ended after just over a 10-year run. The manga’s 430 chapters will be collected into 42 compilation volumes, with the 42nd slated for a December 2024 release in Japan.
