Transforming One Piece into a TV show was no easy task, but Netflix's live-action adaptation managed to capture and convey the unique features of Eiichiro Oda's record-breaking franchise. Also, thanks to the mangaka, who participated in the project as one of the show's executive producers, the show's season 1 was an incredible success.
Needless to say, the anticipation for season 2 of Netflix's live-action adaptation is sky-high. With this in mind, Netflix is carefully selecting the actors for the characters involved in the upcoming season 2, which will begin with the Straw Hat crew's arrival in Rogue Town, and then adapt the entire Baroque Works Saga, up until the Arabasta Arc.

Netflix continues announcing the cast for One Piece Live-Action season 2
On June 27, 2024, Netflix posted on X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the castings for several characters involved in the upcoming season 2 of One Piece's live-action adaptation.
The harsh but righteous Marine officer "White Hunter" Smoker will be played by Callum Kerr, a Scottish actor famous for his roles in Hollyoaks and Monarch. Smoker's loyal subordinate, the shy and idealistic Tashigi, will be played by Julia Rehwald, an American actress renowned for her role in the Fear Street series.
Tashigi's casting seems particularly apt, as the actress selected for the role visibly resembles the one who played the role of a young Shimotsuki Kuina. As it's well known, upon meeting Tashigi, Roronoa Zoro told her that she reminded him of Kuina.
Wapol, the tyrannical ruler of Drum Kingdom, will be played by Rob Colletti. The latter is an American actor who starred in The Many Saints of Newark. The compassionate and good-hearted Dalton will be played by Tyrone Keogh, a South African actor famous for his role in 24 Hours to Live.
The castings for Smoker, Tashigi, Wapol, and Dalton are in addition to the ones that Netflix already confirmed in the last two days:
- Daniel Lasker as Mr 9
- Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine
- Camrus Johnson as Mr 5
- David Dastmalchian as Mr 3
- Clive Russell as Crocus
- Werner Coetser as Dorry
- Brendan Murray as Brogy
Interestingly, Smoker already appeared in season 1 of the live-action adaptation, although only from behind. The ending scene showed Smoker extinguishing his signature cigar on Luffy's bounty poster, teasing the former as a future major antagonist for the Straw Hats.
