The first category, and probably the one that gave the animated series its spotlight, was the 'Outstanding Animated Program,' for which the series' fifth episode, The Tale of the Ronin and the Bride, was nominated. On the day the result was announced, the series reigned victorious in this category.
The same episode has been awarded the winner in other awards such as 'Best Edited Animated Series' in the American Cinema Editors Awards 2024, 'Outstanding Achievement for Editorial in an Animated Television' and 'Outstanding Achievement for Writing in an Animated Television / Broadcast Production' in the Annie Awards 2024. The episode has never lost an award for which it was nominated.

Blue Eye Samurai synopsis
The animated series is an action-adventure series taking place in ancient Japan during the Edo Period, during which the country experienced economic growth and many other cultural growths. During this time, a female warrior named Mizu roams the streets of Japan, looking for revenge against four men.
Mizu, being a master of her sword, must forge a seamless plan to execute revenge against them. As revenge is not an option for a Japanese lady, she must hide her gender, as well as her kind blue eyes, to execute these men before it's too late for her and her country.
