Netflix's One Piece Live Action season 2 confirms cast for some Baroque Work members
According to the tweet, Mr. 3 (Real Name: Galdino) will be played by David Dastmalchian. He is an American actor famous for his roles in movies like The Dark Knight, The Flash, and The Suicide Squad.
Miss Valentine (Real Name: Mikita) will be played by Jazzara Jaslyn. She is a South African actress famous for her roles in movies like A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits. Mr. 5 (Real Name: Gem) will be played by Camrus Johnson. He is an American actor famous for his roles in TV series like Batwoman.
Lastly, Mr. 9 (Real Name: not revealed) will be played by Daniel Lasker. He is a Zimbabwean actor famous for his roles in TV series like Raised by Wolves. The actor also thanked Netflix's One Piece Live Action Season 2 through his official X for selecting him and looked forward to his upcoming future as Mr. 9
Out of these four, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine were announced during the casting call on May 7, 2024. Moreover, these two cast members almost met the requirements of the characters they were selected for, as Miss Valentine's actress was a bit older than the requirement.
What is the Baroque Works, and some speculations about the future
The Baroque Works is a group of criminals that is comprised of mercenaries and bounty hunters under the leadership of the former warlord Crocodile. This group is the Arabasta Saga's central antagonist, consisting of the following arcs: Reverse Mountain Arc, Whisky Peak Arc, Little Garden Arc, Drum Island Arc, and the Arabasta Arc.
Mr. 9 made his first appearance during the Reverse Mountain arc and Mr. 5, alongside his partner Miss Valentine, made his first appearance during the Whisky Peak arc. So, if the Live-Action follows the source material faithfully, the Arabasta Saga could start chronologically just like the manga series.
But that doesn't mean that the One Piece live-action season 2 would discard the remaining arcs of the East Blue Saga as the majority of the cast members for the sequel are yet to be announced.
Smoker's appearance was teased in the last moments of the first season's last episode and he is a key character of the Loguetown arc (East Blue Saga). So, take these speculations with a piece of salt and wait for official confirmation.
