On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the official staff unveiled an announcement PV and visual to confirm the production of a new Crayon Shin-chan movie. According to the announcement, the film, titled Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kusakabe Dancers will premiere in Summer 2025.

The new Crayon Shin-chan movie serves as the franchise's 32nd 2D movie. According to the official staff, the narrative for the film is set in India. This is the first time India has been chosen as a setting for a Shin-chan movie. More information about the movie will be revealed in the future.


New Crayon Shin-chan movie's visual and PV confirm the Summer 2025 release

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the series unveiled a "Super Teaser Visual," and "Super Trailer," to announce the production of Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kusakabe Dancers.

According to the announcement, the new Crayon Shin-chan movie will be theatrically released in Summer 2025. However, an exact release date hasn't been disclosed as of this writing. Notably, the teaser visual features Bo-chan, who gazes at something, while Shin-chan looks back at him.

Shin-chan realizes Bo-chan is acting differently than usual. Additionally, the visual contains a tagline in Japanese, which reads "Goodbye, Shin-chan," in English. The announcement PV unveils the visual and confirms the film's Summer 2025 release window.

According to the latest information, the upcoming movie will be the 32nd 2D animated film in the franchise. As mentioned, the narrative for the new Crayon Shin-chan movie will take place in India, where the series is already popular.

A comment from Shin-chan's new voice actor, Yumiko Kobayashi, has arrived on the film's official site, where the Seiyuu (voice actor) reveals how Shin-chan will "go wild" in India and dance with the members of the Kusakabe Defense Force. Additionally, Yumiko-san reveals that Bo-chan will be the main character of the new Crayon Shin-chan movie.

Besides Yumiko Kobayashi, a comment has come from the movie's director, Masakazu Hashimoto. The director mentions how they went to India for location scouting with the production team's scriptwriter and art staff. The Seiyuu hopes they will be able to deliver a film that's different from anything fans have seen.

Notably, Masakazu Hashimoto has previously directed many Crayon Shin-chan films, including the 30th movie, Mononoke Ninja Chippuden. Besides Masakazu-san, the new movie lists Kimiko Ueno as the screenplay writer. Kimiko-san has previously contributed to the franchise's Shinkon Ryoko Hurricane and Mononoke Ninja Chippuden movies.
