A new Lupin movie is in the works, with a teaser trailer released on November 29 on the TMS YouTube channel. The film, titled LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE, is set to release in 2025, marking the first Lupin movie in nearly 30 years. The last movie, Lupin the Third: Dead or Alive, was released in 1996.
Lupin the Third was created by Monkey Punch, which is a Japanese media company. It revolves around the story of Arsene Lupin the III, who is the legendary jewel thief’s grandson. Aside from the teaser trailer, the official team announced the cast and staff working on the upcoming film project.

The teaser trailer for the new Lupin movie introduced the main characters. It began with Lupin III, the protagonist and grandson of Arsène Lupin, focusing on his heists. Next, we saw Daisuke Jigen, Lupin’s close friend and an expert marksman. The trailer then showed Fujiko Mine, Lupin's love interest and a spy skilled in gathering information during heists.
Goemon Ishikawa XIII and Inspector Koichi Zenigata were also introduced. The trailer concluded with the movie's title and details about the main cast and staff.
Takeshi Koike will be directing the new Lupin movie while Yuya Takahashi will be responsible for the screenplay. James Shimoji will be responsible for the music and soundtracks in the upcoming film. Katsuhito Ishii will be the creative director for this project and Telecom Animation Film will be producing the film. TOHO will undertake the distribution responsibilities for the upcoming film.
Kanichi Kurita will be voicing Lupin III while Akio Otsuka will voice Daisuke Jigen. The latter is a popular anime voice actor who took on roles like Yujiro Hanma in Baki and All For One in My Hero Academia. Daisuke Namikawa will lend his voice to Goemon Ishikawa VIII. He has voiced Momoshiki Otsutsuki from Boruto and Jellal Fernandes in Fairy Tail.
Miyuki Sawashino will voice Fujiko Mine and she has voiced Kurapika from the Hunter x Hunter series. Last but not least, we have Koichi Yamadera voicing Inspector Koichi Zenigata. He was the voice behind Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop and Bruce Wayne in Batman Ninja.
