Based on recent information floating around in Japan, it has been reported that Sui Ishida's manga could be getting a new anime adaptation. Furthermore, it was also reported that this adaptation could be confirmed in July in the coming weeks.

While the possibility of this manga getting a new anime adaptation, one much more faithful to Ishida's vision in the source material is floating around, the truth of the matter is that several details are yet to be revealed. There is no information regarding the possible studio involved, the voice actors, a release date, etc., which is something that many fans need to take into account.

There were a lot of issues with the previous Tokyo Ghoul anime, which has led to fans wanting a new adaptation, and part of that has been ignoring a lot of moments and narratives from the manga. The first season, made by Studio Pierrot, did follow some of the manga's storylines but removed several interactions and character moments. The decision to make such changes made the story feel inconsistent and disjointed.

However, the first season received some positive comments because of the soundtrack and some moments, although most of the goodwill was removed for the second one. That is because the second season crafted a completely new storyline, which infuriated the fandom due to the lack of faithfulness to the source material. It ultimately led to a different path to what was shown in the manga.
