On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the new Yaiba anime shared a new promotional video. The short clip revealed the anime's April 2025 release window, broadcast details, and two more cast members. An exact release date is yet to be revealed.

The new Yaiba anime is based on the eponymous manga series, written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama, famous for the Case Closed (Detective Conan) series. Aoyama-san launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, where it was serialized from 1988 to 1993, collecting 24 tankobon volumes.

The official staff streamed the second teaser promotional video on Saturday, November 23, 2024, to confirm that the new Yaiba anime will air its episodes every Saturday, starting April 2025, at 5:30 pm JST on Yomiuri TV, Nippon TV, and their affiliates channels.

The latest teaser trailer features the main protagonist- Yaiba Kurogane, the heroine- Sayaka Mine, Kurogane's rival- Takeshi Onimaru, master swordsman- Musashi Miyamoto, and Kurogane's father, Kenjuro. The short clip showcases Yaiba's training in the forest and features a scene where he clashes swords with his rival, Takeshi.

Katsuyuki Konishi has joined the voice cast as Kenjuro Kurogane. He has previously voiced Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer, Laxus Dreyar in Fairy Tail, Shuhei Hisagi in Bleach, and others. Besides him, Junichi Suwabe stars in the new Yaiba anime as Musashi Miyamoto. Junichi-san is a famous voice actor in the industry, noted for voicing Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, Grimmjow in Bleach, and others.

Comments from Katsuyuki Konishi and Junichi Suwabe have arrived on the anime's official site. The voice actors are thrilled to be part of the franchise and want fans to look forward to the series. The anime stars Minami Takayama as the titular hero, Yaiba Kurogane, Manaka Iwami as Sayaka Mine, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Takeshi Onimaru.

Takahiro Hasui directs the series at Wit Studio, with Toko Machida supervising the scripts. Yoshimichi Kameda is enlisted as the character designer and the chief animation director, while Takeshi Maenami has joined the staff as the sub-character designer and main animator. Yoshiaki Dewa and Yutaka Yamada are composing the music for the series. Maiko Okada is credited as the animation producer, while Haru Yamada is the sound director.

The new Yaiba anime serves as a remake of the original series, which aired 52 episodes from April 1993 to 1994. Based on Gosho Aoyama's manga, the titular series follows Yaiba Kurogane, a Samurai, who returns to Japan after training under his father in a forest. He encounters his rival, Takeshi, and engages in a duel with him. The series will follow Yaiba's thrilling adventures with his rival.
