On June 18, 2024, Sola Entertainment CEO Joseph Chou confirmed the production of Ninja Kamui season 2 anime. The news was unveiled through a press release for the franchise's first video game NINJA KAMUI: SHINOBI ORIGINS, available on Nintendo Switch.

Ninja Kamui is an original anime produced by E&H Production and Sola Entertainment. The series premiered in February 2024 and has already finished airing after 13 episodes. The anime was aired on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block in the United States and Adult Swim Canada in Canada.

On June 18, Rainmaker Productions and Sola Entertainment together shared a press release with several media outlets to announce the launch of NINJA KAMUI: SHINOBI ORIGINS a prequel game based on the No. 1 hit original anime on Adult Swim & MAX.

This press release saw a statement by Sola Entertainment CEO Joseph Chou confirming the production of Ninja Kamui season 2 anime.

Joseph Chou's statement:

“NINJA KAMUI” anime series has become the most viewed anime ever in the history of both Adult Swim & MAX... We hope this game will continue to entertain the fans around the world while we work on Season 2 of the anime. BE THE NINJA!”

While Sola Entertainment has yet to unveil when fans can expect Ninja Kamui season 2 to be released, from the looks of it, the anime will announce a release window very soon. This is because the game based on the anime was released right after the series ended. This could mean that Sola Entertainment has good plans based around the franchise.

This is also hinted at by the fact that the game NINJA KAMUI: SHINOBI ORIGINS dives into the mysterious "beginning" untold in the original anime. That means that before Ninja Kamui season 2 is released, the anime's executives wish for fans to learn about Joe Logan's past, i.e., the time when he became a fearsome ninja assassin.

What is Ninja Kamui anime about?

Ninja Kamui follows the story of Joe Logan, once a fearsome ninja assassin, who had now assumed a new identity and was living a tranquil life with his wife and child in the countryside. However, their blissful life was soon shattered when members of his former clan slaughtered his family and left him for dead.

Hence, in the name of revenge, Joe Logan shredded away his new identity and embraced his past to go after the organization he once used to serve. Assisting him in this mission is the detective duo of Emma Samanda and Mike Moriss.
