Monday, July 8, 2024 saw the first spoilers for the upcoming One Piece chapter 1120 be revealed online by X (formerly Twitter) user and reputable series leaker @pewpiece (Pew). Per Pew’s latest claims, there will be no break week after the next official release of author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga series of all time, which is chapter 1120.
Additionally, Pew also confirmed alongside these One Piece chapter 1120 release info leaks that the following issue, chapter 1121, will feature “a special new color spread drawn by Eiichiro Oda.” Per Pew’s post on this matter, the spread is allegedly in celebration of the manga’s 27th anniversary, which is officially dated as Monday, July 22, 2024.
Unfortunately, however, Pew and other reputable series leakers have yet to release any story-based spoiler information for One Piece chapter 1120 as of this article’s writing. However, the above information is still very exciting, as it seemingly reveals the manga’s release schedule for all but the final week of July.
One Piece chapter 1120’s release info, and 1121’s color spread info suggest series’ end-of-July release schedule
With One Piece chapter 1120 set to officially release on Monday, July 15 and being confirmed to have no break week after, this puts chapter 1121’s official release as Monday, July 22 as of this article’s writing. This also makes sense as this would see the series release an issue, which would contain the aforementioned celebratory color spread, on the day of the manga’s actual 27th anniversary.
This puts the series as releasing an issue on two of the last three Mondays it possibly could for the month of July. However, with the series having taken a break week for its Monday, July 8 release, this also means Oda’s typical three-on-one-off schedule is being reset with chapter 11120’s release. In other words, it seems likely that Oda will release chapter 1122 on Monday, July 29 to close out the month’s releases as well.
This also sets him up perfectly for an extended Obon holiday break week. While Obon technically isn’t until the second full week of August, Oda will likely take an extended break for the first half of August since his release schedule will be interrupted by the holiday nonetheless. This is due to Shueisha’s tradition of simply not serializing their Weekly Shonen Jump magazine or others during the time of the Obon holiday week.
However, this is all speculative as of this article’s writing, with no confirmed or rumored release information beyond chapter 1121’s release on Monday, July 22, 2024, being currently available. That being said, it does seem likely that fans will see Oda and his series finish out the month of July strongly before taking a long, well-deserved rest for the first half of August.
