With the release week of One Piece chapter 1124 at hand, the series’ spoiler process has also begun anew, starting as always with the series’ release schedule following the upcoming release. Unfortunately, X (formerly Twitter) user and reputable series leaker @pewpiece (Pew) has confirmed that there will be a break week following the official release of chapter 1124.
In turn, it confirms that following One Piece chapter 1124’s official release on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 12AM Japanese Standard Time (JST), the series won’t return until Monday, September 9. However, this suggests that almost every other week in the month of September should see the series release a new chapter, given Oda’s typical cadence and schedule.
One Piece chapter 1124 confirms no chapter from series in opening days of September 2024
Typically speaking, series creator, author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda tries to stick to a three-on-one-off schedule when it comes to releasing chapters.
In other words, for every three chapters of his manga which he releases, he will take a one-week break before starting again. One Piece chapter 1124 is continuing this cadence, thanks to the fact that publication breaks like the one in early August don’t factor into his three-on-one-off schedule.
Likewise, fans can expect Oda to continue this schedule into September, releasing chapters on Monday the 9, Monday the 16, and Monday the 23 assuming no extra breaks are taken.
These would correspond to chapters 1125, 1126 and 1127 respectively. More likely than not, these chapters will serve as the conclusion to the Egghead arc, if it’s not officially concluded in chapter 1124 before Oda takes his next break.
This also falls in line with previous estimations from Oda that the Elbaf arc, which the series has already all but confirmed as the next arc, would begin by the end of 2024.
While Oda obviously seems to be a bit early on this estimate as it stands, it’s entirely possible that he was either expecting to need more time to end Egghead, or scrapped planned ideas at the time. In any case, it’s clear that the Elbaf arc will soon be starting in the manga.
The Elbaf arc is highly anticipated for many reasons, but one of the most significant is the expected focus on Usopp.
Heading into One Piece chapter 1124’s release, the manga itself even seems to be teasing this, with chapter 1123 specifically showing Usopp celebrating their heading to Elbaf.
Oda’s One Piece manga series first began serialization in Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 1997. The manga has been regularly serialized there since and is still ongoing but is actively progressing through its final saga. The Egghead arc is the first arc of this final saga.
