Sunday, September 15, 20244 saw French YouTuber and apparent One Piece fan @Inoxtag (Inoxtag) share a post celebrating their climbing to the top of Mount Everest. Significantly, Inoxtag can be seen donning series protagonist Monkey D. Luffy’s trademark straw hat in several of the pictures at the mountain’s summit.

The One Piece community is understandably both heavily praising Inoxtag for his incredible accomplishment, and fawning over the fact that he wore Luffy’s straw hat as he did so. Some fans are even going as far as to call Inoxtag the “king of the mountains,” a clear reference to the King of the Pirates title Luffy chases in-series, in response to his incredible feat.

In addition to sharing pictures of his achievement and One Piece-themed celebration, Inoxtag also posted a message to his X (formerly Twitter) account along with the pictures. He begins by discussing how everyone should have a dream, and that there are no big or small dreams. He emphasizes that what’s important is to try to be better than yesterday, emphasizing that the greatest adventures are always lived with others and that nothing is done alone.

He goes on to say that while it’s not easy to find a passion or to have a dream, one must make sure they’re interested in new things and take the time to learn these new things. He then speaks on social media platforms and how they can take away a significant amount of time in our lives that prohibits us from learning new passions. Inoxtag emphasizes that while he’s appreciative of the life such platforms have afforded him, moderation is necessary.

He concludes by sharing that pessimists shouldn’t be listened to, adding that fear of others’ perceptions and more is what limits us from living the way we want. He implores people to surround themselves with “optimists, dreamers,” and “Those who want to become better.” He then concludes by driving these points hom and thanking everyone reading.

Understandably, both One Piece's general fandom and fans of Inoxtag specifically are chiming in to comment on how cool the achievement and celebration is, as well as congratulate his efforts. Many are pointing out specifically how remarkable, brave, or courageous such an undertaking is, while others are praising Inoxtag directly with miscellaneous compliments and phrases:

Fans of author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda’s series are also taking the opportunity to comment, honoring Inoxtag in their own uniquely inspired way:
