Late last week, Universal Studios Hollywood announced that the One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga franchises would have a presence at the park in 2025. This presence would come specifically via Universal Fan Fest Nights, a separately ticketed, after-hours event which will begin at the theme park in April 2025.
The event nights were first announced as catering to fans of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, as well as the gaming and anime mediums. This initial claim is likewise verified with the confirmation that One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen will both have a presence at the event. Universal Fan Fest Nights will begin on Friday, April 25, 2025 and run until Sunday, May 18, 2025 on select dates.

Unfortunately, the extent to which One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen will be present is unknown as of this article’s writing. This includes exactly how they’ll be present beyond Universal claiming that each series will have experiences during the limited-time event. However, the event nights are generally expected to feature live entertainment, cosplay, characters, food, and merchandise.
It can likewise be presumed that each series will have a presence in one or more of these areas, especially in the realm of cosplay. It is expected that more specific information will be revealed as the starting date of Friday, April 25, 2025 approaches. Likewise, only specific dates will see the event run at the theme park. These dates are April 25-27, May 2-4, May 9-11, and May 16-18.
While the Universal Fan Fest Nights are running, Universal will also have other immersive experiences happening simultaneously throughout the park. Some of the media franchises represented will include Star Trek, Back to the Future, Harry Potter, and Dungeons & Dragons. It is expected that tickets will be priced similarly to the park’s Halloween Horror Nights, which sell for as little as $77 dollars before taxes and fees.
Mangaka Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 1997. The series is still ongoing and regularly published there today, but is currently progressing through its final saga. The series was adapted into a weekly television anime by Toei Animation in October 1999 and is also still running today. Netflix produced a live-action adaptation of the manga in August 2023.
Mangaka Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018. The manga recently concluded on September 30, 2024 after 271 chapters. The final compilation volumes will be released in Japan in December. MAPPA Studios adapted the series into a television anime and is currently producing the third season, which will adapt the Culling Game Arc.
