One Piece Live Action Season 2 recently revealed the cast for Crocodile as well as Nico Robin, who are set to embrace their roles in the upcoming adaptation of the Alabasta arc.
Although the fandom's reaction has been rather split regarding the new casting of two of the most important characters in the story, Joe Manganiello, the actor for Crocodile, has embraced his role by molding his social media handle into one that directly references Luffy being impaled by Crocodile.
This entire situation somewhat reflects Crocodile's mocking tone toward Luffy, indicating that Joe Manganiello has fully embraced his role as Luffy's nemesis, Crocodile.

One Piece Live Action Season 2: Joe Manganiello fully embraces Crocodile's persona
The One Piece Live Action first made its debut on August 31, 2023, and soon became one of the few anime live-action adaptations to break the curse of bad live-action adaptations, while also gaining praise from almost the entire fandom. Season 1 concluded with the ending of the Arlong Park arc while also setting up Smoker as the next pursuer of the Straw Hat Crew.
One Piece Live Action Season 2 was announced following the ending of Season 1, with rumors of it mainly adapting the Alabasta arc.
Joe Manganiello, the actor for Crocodile, recently changed his Twitter banner to a picture of Crocodile impaling Luffy during their meeting in Alabasta, while his bio was changed to mimic Crocodile's iconic "Hisashiburi Dana... Mugiwara," fully immersing himself in the role of one of the most mysterious One Piece villains.
Joe Manganiello has previously worked on the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies as Flash Thompson, and was supposed to take up the role of Deathstroke in the DCEU before it got rebooted.
The actual release date for One Piece Live Action Season 2 is not known yet, but it is expected to be released in 2025 and will feature the simultaneous debut of Chopper, Vivi, Robin, and Crocodile.
Alabasta is currently one of the most intriguing places in One Piece, with its history being closely tied to the identity of the World Leader, Imu. It is possible that Oda may reveal a few hints about Imu's identity in One Piece Live Action season 2. The One Piece manga has currently started the Elbaf arc, which is supposed to be one of the most impactful arcs in the series in terms of lore reveals.
