Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine serialized the manga from September 2020 to April 2022, with eight tankobon volumes published.

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, the official website and X account of the Orb: On the Movements of the Earth anime shared a promotional video and visual to announce that the series will premiere in October 2024, i.e., in Fall 2024.
Along with this announcement, the staff revealed the broadcast details. The Orb: On the Movements of the Earth anime will air its episodes every Saturday from 11:45 pm JST starting October 2024, on NHK General TV in Japan. A narrower release date will be revealed in the future.
Notably, the latest teaser trailer, featuring Rafal and other important characters, gives fans a peek into the narrative. The short clip begins with Rafal's monologue, where he calls everyone in the world "idiot."
According to the video, the narrative is set in a time when the geocentric theory was considered absolute, and any theory that tried to overturn it was considered a serious crime. The PV shows Rafal meeting Hubert, a mysterious scholar, and developing an intellectual curiosity about the world.
Besides the PV, the official staff has unveiled a teaser visual for the Orb: On the Movements of the Earth anime. The illustration shows the protagonist, Rafal, observing the universe from the Earth. The visual confirms the anime's October 2024 release window.
Cast information for the Orb: On the Movements of the Earth anime has also arrived. Maaya Sakamoto, known for voicing Ciel Phantomhive in Black Butler and Shinobu Oshino from the Monogatari series, stars as Rafal.
Kenjiro Tsuda, the voice behind Kento Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen, has joined this series' voice cast as Novak. Sho Hayami, renowned for voicing Sosuke Aizen from Bleach and others, will lend his voice to the mysterious scholar, Hubert. More cast members will be revealed later.
