Oshi no Ko manga author set to collaborate with Record of Ragnrok's artists
On November 11, 2024, a few days before the official release of Oshi no Ko chapter 166, manga leakers online leaked details about Aka Akasaka's future project.
According to the leaked information, Aka Akasaka, creator of Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Oshi no Ko, is set to start a new manga series in Spring 2025. The manga series will be published in Shueisha's Young Jump magazine.
With Mengo Yokoyari set to start work on her own manga, Aka Akasaka will be collaborating with Record of Ragnarok's Ajichika for the new series' artwork. For fans who weren't in the know, Ajichika is a four-member group that illustrates the Record of Ragnarok manga.
In addition, the leaks also gave fans a glimpse of the new manga's plot:
"In a fairy-tale world, there are always princesses and princes guided by fate..."
As per the above synopsis, the new manga could be a fairy tale story about princes and princesses.
How fans reacted to the leaked announcement
Just as fans saw the leaked announcement, they started reacting negatively to it. After learning about the ending they were set to receive in Oshi no Ko, no fan wanted to read a series created by Aka Akasaka.
"AKA AKASAKA YOU FRAUD, YOU CANNOT FOOL US ANYMORE. WE WILL NOT BE READING!!!," one fan said.
"It's gonna have a good start just like kaguya and oshi, then after halfway Aka will lose interest and the story will slowly go down and we'll get another rushed and unsatisfying ending," another added.
"Ajichika is the new victim," other fan said.
Another fan theorized what would happen after Aka Akasaka released the new manga. While it would look like a good series at the start, the author would lose interest in the series mid-way, giving it a rushed unsatisfying ending.
Other fans started feeling bad for Ajichika as the group could face the same criticism as Mengo Yokoyari due to the creator's poor storytelling.
