Oshi no Ko manga to launch a new light novel in December 2024
As fans would know by now, Oshi no Ko manga is set to end in a week. However, before its end, the publisher Shueisha listed a new light novel from the series on its website.
The light novel is called Oshi no Ko ~The Etude of the Two~ and will be released on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Oshi no Ko ~The Etude of the Two~ will be written by Hajime Taka under the supervision of the manga author Aka Akasaka. For fans who weren't aware, Hajime Tanaka was the person who wrote the manga series' first light novel Ichibanboshi no Spica (Spica the First Star).
As per the website, the second light novel is set to reveal a moving and shocking episode related to the past "relationship" between the two fan-favorite heroines, Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa.
How fans reacted to the light novel news
Many fans did not want the manga creator to ruin the story further with a light novel. However, Kana and Akane fans were happy as they were set to get additional content on their favorite characters. Some fans even theorized that the light novel would see the "Kana x Akane" ship come to life.
"Make Kana the MC," one fan said.
"Wow can't believe they went the GL route," another fan said.
"would the story be after the original ONK?," another fan questioned.
"called it, this is the real reason aka killed off aqua to make kana x akane real," other fan said.
Other fans were confused about the setting for the light novel. Hence, they flooded the comments with questions surrounding the plot. Lastly, one fan claimed that they knew this was going to happen. According to them, manga creator Aka Akasaka killed off Aqua Hoshino so that he could set up Kana and Akane as a couple.
