On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Oshi no Ko manga announced that the Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari series is set to end in four chapters. The remainder of the manga is set to be released without any breaks, with the final chapter set to be published on November 14, 2024.
Oshi no Ko manga, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, follows Aqua and Ruby, twin children of the late popular idol Ai Hoshino. While both children are pursuing their careers in the entertainment industry, they wish to take revenge upon the person who caused their mother's death. On a side note, both children are the reincarnation of their mother's deceased fans.
Oshi no Ko manga set to end in November 2024
On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Oshi no Ko manga announced that the Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari series is set to end in four chapters.
Following the release of Oshi no Ko chapter 162, the manga series has gone on a two-week break, setting up the next chapter's release on October 24. But before the manga could release that chapter, its social media account revealed the release schedule for the remainder of the manga's chapters.
So, essentially, starting from Sheuisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine issue 47, the manga will be releasing four chapters continuously without any breaks. Hence, the manga's final chapter, i.e., Oshi no Ko chapter 166 is set to be released on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Weekly Young Jump issue 50.
The release schedule for the remainder of the manga is as follows:
- Oshi no Ko chapter 163 - October 24
- Oshi no Ko chapter 164 - October 31
- Oshi no Ko chapter 165 - November 7
- Oshi no Ko chapter 166 - November 14
Effectively, the manga series will conclude in just five more weeks.
As part of the Oshi no Ko manga's conclusion, the series is also set to launch a project to celebrate its finale. The manga is set to publish its final volume on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. It is set to include a bookstand and stickers. Fans can also opt for a special cover version of the manga as well.
In addition, the series is soon set to release the iconic "Ai Hoshino" fan keychain seen in the manga. Lastly, the manga's official X account is set to upload a countdown post every week.
