On Sunday, July 7, 2024, Kadokawa shared a new trailer for the Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie to announce that the film will open with IMAX screenings on September 13, 2024. Following that, the movie will be released on September 20, 2024, with regular screenings in Japan.
Besides that, the trailer revealed the movie's theme song and artist. The anime's official staff has also unveiled two new visuals for the upcoming film. Prior to these updates, Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie had a screening of the first ten minutes at Anime Expo 2024, on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie's new trailer confirms the premiere date
As mentioned earlier, Kadokawa streamed a new trailer for the Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie on Sunday, July 7, 2024. According to the PV, the film will hit IMAX in Japan on September 13, 2024, while the theatrical version will be released on the normal screens on September 20, 2024. The staff is yet to reveal the international release dates for the movie.
The latest promotional video features Ainz Ooal Gown, Neia, Demiurge, Calca, and other important characters from the Sacred Kingdom Arc. The short clip gives fans a glimpse into the gritty and dark tone of the arc and subtly highlights the plot.
Additionally, the PV previews the movie's theme song, WHEELER-DEALER by OxT. The official X account for Overlord anime shared a comment from the singer, where they asked the audience to look forward to the movie and find out what the "most evil justice" truly means.
Aside from the trailer, the Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie shared two new visuals. The first visual, which is for the regular screening, features the movie's main characters like Calca, Neia, and others in a way as if they are held in Momonga-sama, the Sorcerer King's hands.
The illustration has a tagline, which reads, "The advent of the most evil justice" in English. Interestingly, the original illustrator of the light novel, So-bin, has drawn the second visual for the IMAX screening. The fiery poster features Ainz and Jaldabaoth.
Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie's staff has also shared new character visuals for Ainz Ooal Gown (voiced by Satoshi Hino), the "Demon Emperor" Jaldabaoth (voiced by Masayuki Kato), and Shizu Delta (voiced by Asami Seto), a maid employed by the Demon Emperor.

Overlord: Sacred Kingdom arc movie features Satoshi Hino as Ainz Ooal Gown, Yumi Hara as Albedo, Yoshino Aoyama as Neia Baraja, Saori Hayami as Calca, Haruka Tomatsu as Kelart Custodio, Hitomi Nabatame as Remedios, Masayuki Kato as Demiurge, and others.
Naoyuki Ito directs the movie at Madhouse. He is also enlisted as the series composer and scriptwriter. Yukie Sugawara returns to the franchise to collaborate with Naoyuki-san on the scripts.
Satoshi Tasaki designs the characters as the chief animation director, while Fumiyuki Go returns as the sound director. Shuji Katayama from Team-MAX is in charge of the music.
According to the original light novel, Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Arc movie is set in the Kingdom of Roble, where tragedy strikes with the appearance of a fearsome demon Jaldabaoth. The leaders realize their defenses aren't enough, so they seek the assistance of Ainz Ooal Gown, the "Undead King."
