Prime Video adds Crunchyroll to its list of channels in India

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Crunchyroll informed Sportskeeda via email correspondence that Prime Video has added Crunchyroll to its Prime Video Channels in India. This is set to allow members to subscribe to the anime streaming platform for a small monthly fee of ₹79.

Crunchyroll has been actively expanding its market in India. Some of the company's recent measures include anime screenings, a marketing campaign, and an increase in regional language dubs for anime. Following this, the company has now seemingly partnered with Prime Video to expand its number of users.


Prime members can now subscribe to Crunchyroll Prime Video Channel in India

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Prime Video added Crunchyroll to Prime Video Channels in India, increasing access to some of the most popular anime content for fans across the country.

Prime members can now purchase the add-on subscription to the anime streaming platform at a low fee of only ₹79 per month. With that, they can gain access to over 800 anime titles, all of which will be available for viewers in India in multiple languages, immediately after their release in Japan.

With the add-on subscription, Prime members can now enjoy more than 40 new shows from the new anime seasons, including the likes of Kaiju No. 8, Black Butler - Public School Arc, Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, The Apothecary Diaries, and many more.

The best part is that select popular shows can also be watched with regional language dubs including, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, in addition to English.

All of this is in addition to the wide range of premium content fans can watch on the same destination, i.e., Prime Video.

Gaurav Bhasin, Head of Prime Video Channels and Movie Rentals, said this on behalf of Prime Video:

“The popularity of anime content in India has grown exponentially over the last few years, and through various Channels, we are working towards building a wide and diverse library of popular and blockbuster Japanese animation.”

He was thrilled to launch Crunchyroll on Prime Video Channels and make it even more convenient for Prime members in India to watch the latest anime content, immediately after their release in Japan. The availability of regional language dubs was also a bonus as they allowed new viewers to seamlessly get introduced to new shows and movies.

Even Terry Li, Executive President of Business Development at Crunchyroll, expressed that he was looking forward to welcoming new fans to their community through their launch on Prime Video. This is because the anime streaming platform had something for every kind of fan, stories surrounding sports, rom-coms, horror, action, slice-of-life, and more.
