Based on Riku Nanano's novels, the Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter anime centers around a young sorcerer, Allen, who, after failing the final exam for the job at the royal court, wants to retreat to the countryside and live a simple life.

Yet, to his dismay, he cannot afford the train fair. As such, the only option for him is to get a job. Interestingly, Allen becomes the tutor to Tina Howard, the daughter of the kingdom's most powerful nobleman, Duke Howard.

However, Allen discovers that Tina cannot cast a single magic spell. With the entrance exams for the Royal Academy fast approaching, Allen decides to help Tina overcome her magical impairment.
