Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime announces October 2024 release date and more cast with new PV and visual

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime shared the second promotional video and new visual to announce that the series will premiere on October 6, 2024. Along with this announcement, the official staff revealed more cast members for the series.

Produced by TOHO Animation Studio, Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime serves as an adaptation of the web manga series written and illustrated by Maeda-kun. Shogakukan's Weekly CoroCoro Comic online magazine has been serializing the manga since March 2022. The manga ranked fourth in the Tsugimanga Awards 2022 in the web manga category.

Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime's new trailer and visual confirm the October 6, 2024, release date

The official staff streamed a new promotional video on Saturday, August 31, 2024, to reveal that Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime (Puniru is a Cute Slime) will begin airing its episodes on TV Tokyo and its affiliated channels from 11:45 pm JST, starting October 6, 2024.

The PV depicts Puniru and Kotaro's unique chemistry and features other important characters. The short clip also previews the opening theme, Gyumu, by Yuu Sarahara, the voice actor of Puniru.

Additionally, the staff unveiled a new visual for the rom-com anime series. The illustration features the main heroine, Puniru, the hero, Kotaro Kawaii, Arisu Okanega, Mami Kirara, and Yusuke Nanpa.

Apart from the broadcast information and visual, the official staff has announced three new cast members for the Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime. Risa Shimizu stars as Mami Kirara, the madonna of the school and Kotaro's unrequited love interest.

Junya Enoki, known for voicing Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, has joined the cast as Yusuke Nanpa, described as Kotaro's classmate. Yumiri Hanamori has also been enlisted to this anime's voice cast as Arisu Okanega.

These new voice actors will join Yu Sasahara, who plays Puniru, and Shuichiro Umeda, who stars as Kotaro. Comments from the recently announced cast members have arrived on the anime's official site, where they revealed how excited they are to perform their respective roles.

Yushi Ibe directs the anime at TOHO Animation Studio, with Michiko Yokote in charge of the script supervision. Miharu Hirami and Rintaro Ikeda are helping Michiko-san with the scripts.

Aya Tanaka, noted for his contributions to Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation II anime, has joined the staff as the character designer, while Izumi Mori is in charge of the music composition.

Misaki Enokida is listed as the editor, while Yuji Tange is the sound director. Asami Kitsukawa is the color designer, while Miu Miyamoto handles the art direction duties. Haruka Goto is credited as the director of photography.

Based on Maeda-kun's web manga, Puniru wa Kawaii Slime anime follows the story of Kotaro Kawaii, who creates a slime and names it Puniru. After seven years, Kotaro discovers that the slime has transformed into a beautiful girl.
