On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) handle for the Re:Zero season 3 unveiled its third key visual, featuring Subaru Natsuki and Emilia, with other characters in the background. The sequel is set to premiere in October 2024 with a 90-minute episode. Prior to that, the episode will be theatrically screened in Japan on August 30, 2024.
Produced by White Fox, Re:Zero season 3 is set to pick up the narrative from the previous installment, which was released in two parts. The first part aired 13 episodes from July 2020 to September 2020, while the second half released 12 episodes from January 2021 to March 2021.
The anime serves as an adaptation of the light novel series, written by Nagatsuki Teppei, and illustrated by Ootsuka Shinichiro. Media Factory has been publishing the light novel since January 2014.
Re:Zero season 3 new key visual depicts Subaru and Emilia in a picturesque setting
The official staff for Re:Zero season 3 unveiled the third key visual on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The illustration depicts the protagonist, Subaru Natsuki, and the main heroine, Emilia, set in a picturesque valley. Subaru and Emilia are seen smiling joyfully and close to each other.
Besides them, the visual depicts Beatrice, Otto Suwen, and Fredericka's younger brother, Garfiel Tinsel, in the background. However, the visual's major highlight is Subaru and Emilia's beautiful chemistry.
Interestingly, the illustration has a catchphrase in Japanese, which reads as the following when translated into English:
"Stand up against the worst disaster no matter how many times."
Aside from the visual, the official staff has revealed the design for season 2's Blu-ray BOX. The illustration features Beatrice and Ram, with tears in their eyes. The visual has been drawn by the previous installment's character designer & chief animation director, Kyuuta Sakai.
The series is scheduled to be released in October 2024, with a 90-minute special premiere. The anime will hold an advanced theatrical screening starting August 30, 2024, in Japanese theatres. Crunchyroll will stream the series for international audiences as it airs in Japan.
