On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the Sakamoto Days anime unveiled the character promotional videos and cast members for Asakura Shin, Lu Shaotang, Aoei, Hana Sakamoto, Mashimo Heisuke, and Piisuke. The anime is set to premiere in January 2025.
Sakamoto Days, written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki, is a Japanese manga serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020. The manga has been compiled into 17 volumes and has over 5 million copies in circulation. TMS Entertainment will be giving the series an anime adaptation.
Sakamoto Days unveils six new cast members
On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the official website of Sakamoto Days anime unveiled six new cast members for the series. This was announced with special promotional videos for each character available as YouTube Shorts on TMS Anime's official YouTube channel.
Asakura Shin will be voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki. The voice actor has previously voiced Seishiro Nagi from Blue Lock, Yuno Grinberryall from Black Clover, and Yuki Souma from Fruits Basket.
Lu Shaotang will be voiced by Ayane Sakura. She has previously voiced Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, Minami Fuyuki in Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, and Ochako Uraraka in My Hero Academia. She is also set to voice Aira Shiratori in Dandadan.
Joining them are Nao Touyama and Hina Kino, who will be voicing Tarou Sakamoto's wife, Aoi, and child, Hana, respectively.
Nao Touyama has previously voiced Honami Ichinose in The Classroom of the Elite, Chiho Sasaki in The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Ruka Sarashina in Rent-a-Girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Hina Kino has previously voiced Lishu in The Apothecary Diaries, Alas Ramus in The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Miri Unasaka in Buddy Daddies.
Lastly, we have Ryota Suzuki and Miyari Nemoto, who are set to voice Mashimo Heisuke and his "spotter" parrot, Piisuke.
Ryota Suzuki previously voiced Touma Hiiragi in Wind Breaker, Ryuusui Nanami in Dr. Stone, and Yuu Ishigami in Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Meanwhile, Miyari Nemoto previously voiced Pfeifer in The Duke of Death and His Maid, Sazanka in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, and Pikachu in Pokemon Evolutions.
Sakamoto Days anime will premiere in January 2024. It will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other television networks and will be available to stream on Netflix and other distribution platforms. Fans can expect the anime to announce more information before the series' premiere.
