Sengoku Youko anime announces Summer 2024 release date for Part 2

On June 12, 2024, the official X account for Sengoku Youko revealed a key visual for part 2 of the anime, announced its Summer 2024 release date, and revealed three more cast members appearing in this part of the anime. The anime also announced a consecutive two arc airing from part 2, without any gap.

Sengoku Youko is adapted from a manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Mizukami Satoshi. The manga series started its serialization in December 2007 and ended in May 2016. Animation studio White Fox made the anime adaptation for this manga series.

Sengoku Youko part 2 set to premiere in July 2024

The key visual was focused on one of the supporting protagonists, Senya, who will be one of the main protagonists in part 2. The key visual also comprised the newly unveiled cast members: Mudo, Ashikaga Yoshiteru, and Hanatora. The description of the tweet revealed the release date and announced the arc this part will be adapting:

"Following the first part, "The Reformation Siblings Edition," the second part, "The Thousand Demons Chaos Edition," will begin airing in July. What awaits on this new journey? The "Thousand Demons Chaos" arc begins in style!," the tweet read.

Sengoku Youko Part 2 episode 1 will be released on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12 am, JST. The episode will air on Japanese TV channels like TOKYO MX, ABC TV, Nagoya TV, and other related channels.

The first part was broadcast on Crunchyroll for international fandom, so fans can expect the second part to also be broadcast on this streaming service. Parts 2 and 3 are set to be aired consecutively without any gap.

Newly announced cast members and staff members

The newly introduced cast is the rival of Senya, the protagonist. Mudo is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibira from Demon Slayer) and is a new key figure in part 2. Ashikaga Yoshiteru is voiced by Hatano Wataru (Haruta Shigemo from Jujutsu Kaisen), and the deity of the land, Hanatora, is voiced by Shizuka Itou (Teacher Irina from Assassination Classroom).

The staff members from the previous part are returning to animate Sengoku Youko part 2:

• Kagetsu Aizawa is the director (episode director for Yuru Camp season 2)
• Jukki Hanada is the script composer (script composer for The Dangers in My Heart)
• Evan Call is the music composer (music composer for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)

Sengoku Youko synopsis

The anime is a Shounen anime series, the first part of which adapted the first arc of the manga series, The Reformation Siblings Edition arc. The series takes place in a fantasy world where a magical species called the Katawara exists. The first part introduced the protagonists Shinsuke, Tama, Jinka, and Shakuyaku.

Together, these three fight the monks who are trying to create Human-Katawara hybrids. The series ends with the addition of Senya, a demon hunter, to the group of protagonists from where part 2 will continue, adapting the Thousand Demons Chaos arc.
