Shangri-La Frontier season 2 announces Nephilim Hollow Arc with new trailer

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the official staff for Shangri-La Frontier season 2 unveiled a new promotional video to announce the Nephilim Hollow Arc. According to the short clip, the arc's adaptation will begin with the sequel's sixth episode, which will be released on November 17, 2024. Simultaneously, two new cast members are announced.

Produced by C2C, Shangri-La Frontier season 2 serves as a sequel to the previous installment, which aired 25 episodes from October 2023 to March 2024. The series itself is based on the eponymous manga series, written by Katarina and illustrated by Ryosuke Fuji. Notably, the manga is based on Katarina's original web novel, which was published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2's new trailer teases the Nephilim Hollow Arc

After the broadcast of the sequel's fifth episode on Sunday, November 10, 2024, the official staff for Shangri-La Frontier season 2 unveiled a new promotional video to highlight the series' next major arc, the Nephilim Hollow Arc. The arc is set to begin with the sixth episode, which will air on November 17, 2024, according to the original release schedule.

At the same time, the official website and the X (formerly Twitter) account for Shangri-La Frontier season 2 has revealed two new cast members for the Nephilim Hollow Arc. Rie Takahashi stars as Rust and Kaito Ishikawa as Mord.

The promotional video for the Nephilim Hollow Arc begins with a narration, where it is revealed that Sunraku is no longer playing Shangri-La Frontier but a robot action game called Nephilim Hollow since he's feeling down.

The short clip deviates from the fantastical world of Shangri-La and showcases a different world filled with mecha and robots. Notably, the PV features a scene where Sunraku shows off his incredible gaming skills against the Nephilim Hollow game's champion, Rust.

He mounts on a mecha robot named Hiyokurenn and engages in fierce combat. Yet, despite his skills, he could only manage a draw against Rust. That said, the protagonist refuses to change suits until he loses. Besides Sunraku and Rust, the trailer shows Mord, who is an excellent operator playing alongside Rust.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2 premiered on October 13, 2024, on JNN (MBS, TBS) at 5 PM JST in Japan. Crunchyroll streams the series internationally (North America, South America, Central America, Oceania, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, CIS, and Southeast Asia) as it airs in Japan.

Yuuma Uchida stars as Sunraku in the anime, while Rina Hidaka voices Emul. Youko Hikasa plays Towa, while Makoto Koichi plays Oikatzo. Other cast members include Azumi Waki as Rei, Akio Otsuka as Vysache, Hiromu Mineta as Aramis, Miyu Tomita as Bilac, Seiichiro Yamashita as Orcelott, Satsumi Matsuda as Peatz, and others.

Toshiyuki Kubooka reprises his role as the director at C2C, with Kazuyuki Fudeyashi in charge of the series composition. Ayumi Kurashima is the character designer, while Chun Ri Rong and Yuki Nobe are in charge of the series' art. Akiko Fujita is the sound director, while Kuniyuki Takahashi is handling the music composition.
