On July 6, 2024, Shangri-La Frontier season 2 announced its release date through a new trailer and a visual. The anime is set to air on October 13, 2024, and will be a two-cour series just like its prequel.

The anime series is the adaptation of a manga series written by Katarina and illustrated by Ryousuke Fuji. The first season of this series was released in October 2023 and continued for two cours, completing its airing in March 2024. The anime series is set to retain its animation studio, Studio C2C, for the sequel.

The new trailer of Shangri-La Frontier season 2 consisted of Rakurou Hizutome and his other party members logging into the game Shangri-La Frontier. The trailer showed every party member exploring the vast world of this game.

It then shifted to Sunraku's party members: Arthur Pencilgon, Emul, OiKatzo, and Psyger-0 walking away from the screen. Shangri-La Frontier season 2 episode 1 is set to be released on October 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM JST, and 11:00 PM PDT.

The teaser visual, released alongside the trailer, showcased Sunraku's party, as mentioned above, and three more characters that appeared in the first season. Starting from the left side, after Psyger-0: the red-haired one is Psyger-100, the pink-haired one is Professor, and the silver-haired one is Animalia.

The anime is the adaptation of a manga series, of the same name, illustrated by Ryousuke Fuji (Attack on Titan: Lost Girls) and written by Katarina. The anime series started its airing in Fall 2023 on October 1, 2023, and spanned 25 episodes in 2 cours, finishing its airing on March 31, 2024.

Animation Studio C2C was behind the animation of this series. The Journey of Elaina, Otaku Elf, Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy, and Reincarnated as a Sword are some of their most popular anime adaptation works.

But fans can expect the sequel to continue Sunraku's journey through the vast world of the game Shangri-La Frontier alongside his friends. Moreover, as revealed in the trailer, the sequel will also be a two-cour season just like the prequel.
