Shy anime season 2 confirms exact July 2024 release date and more with main PV and visual

Shy anime season 2 is slated to be released on July 1, 2024, as confirmed by the anime's staff on Thursday, June 13, 2024, via the main promotional video. Additionally, a new key visual, more cast, and details regarding the anime's opening theme song have been revealed.

Shy anime season 2 is a sequel to the first installment, which ran from October 2023 to December 2023, for 12 episodes. Notably, the anime is an adaptation of Bukimi Miki's original Japanese manga series. Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion has been serializing the manga, with 24 tankobon volumes published thus far.

The main trailer for Shy anime season 2 confirms the July 1, 2024, release date

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the official website and X account for the Shy anime season 2 shared the main promotional video to announce that the series will premiere on July 1, 2024, that is, in the Summer 2024 season.

According to the PV, the upcoming sequel will cover the Tokyo Recapture arc from Bukimi Miki's manga series. The short video features Ai Tennoji, the princess of the ninja village, who will appear in season 2, and Utsuro, who happens to be a member of Amarariruku.

Fans can catch a glimpse of what's to come in season 2 in the trailer. Aside from showcasing the familiar characters, the latest trailer for the Shy anime season 2 previews the opening theme song, WILLSHINE, performed by PassCode.

Broadcast information has also arrived on the official website, according to which the Shy anime season 2 will begin airing its episodes every Monday from 24:00 JST, starting July 1, 2024 (effectively Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 12 am JST), on TV Tokyo Network.

Following that, the anime will be telecast on BS Nippon TV at 12:30 am JST, starting July 2, 2024. Japanese fans can also catch the episodes on NST Niigata General TV, and AT-X. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired. However, the streaming giant is yet to confirm whether it will stream season 2.

A new key visual has also been unveiled for the anime. The illustration depicts the heroes and the members of the Amarariruku engaged in a battle in Tokyo. Teru Momijiyama appears in the visual, wielding her blade.

Moreover, the Shy anime season 2 has announced the names of the new cast members. Wataru Hatano stars as Century in the anime, while Izumi Kitta voices Kwabara. Hiro Shimono has also joined the staff as Tokimaru.

Comments from the new voice actors have arrived on the anime's website, where they mentioned how excited they are to play their respective roles. Notably, it was earlier revealed that Kotori Koiwai would play Ai Tennoji's role, while Hitomi Ueda would voice Utsuro.
