On January 7, 2025, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok web novel extended its hiatus to January 31, 2025, due to the author's medical examination results demanding further treatment. The hiatus was first announced to be until January 3, 2025.
Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is a web novel series written by Daul. The series' manhwa adaptation, written by Dang Do and illustrated by JIN, started publishing in August 2024 and is the spin-off and sequel series of the phenomenon Solo Leveling. The manhwa series received a physical volume adaptation and collected 13 volumes (all released in Japanese and 10 in English).
Solo Leveling: Ragnarok extends hiatus to January 31, 2025
As announced by the web novel's production team, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok will extend its hiatus by four more weeks, returning on January 31, 2025. The extension was to give the author additional treatment, as suggested by his doctors after the detailed examination.
On December 30, 2024, the web novel went on a hiatus till January 3, 2025, because its author, Daul, faced some injuries in a car accident. While the injuries weren't life-threatening, the author had to stay in the hospital for further examination. As revealed recently, the author requires additional treatment, postponing the series' return to the end of January.
The web novel received a manhwa adaptation on August 1, 2024, written by Dang Do and illustrated by JIN from REDICE Studio. The web novel series is the sequel to the popular manhwa series Solo Leveling. Chugong wrote its web novel, and manhwa was illustrated by DUBU (Jang Sung-rak), also the CRO of REDICE Studio (the same as Solo Leveling: Ragnarok's illustrator).
The manhwa series ended serialization on December 20, 2021. It also received an anime adaptation animated by animation studio A-1 Pictures (Kaguya-sama: Love is War).
The first season aired on January 7, 2024, followed by the second season, which is currently airing in the Winter 2025 anime season. The series also released a game, Solo Leveling: Arise, on March 18, 2024.
Solo Leveling: Ragnarok synopsis
The series is an action fantasy centered around Sung Suho, the son of the prequel's protagonist, Sung Jinwoo. While Jinwoo is fighting a war in space, Suho inherits his father's powers as a Shadow Monarch.
Moreover, he also has to navigate different parts of Earth and see what threats endanger the survival of the planet. On his journey, will Suho come across the same monsters as his father, or will his story feature new lore?
