A new promotional video has confirmed the Solo Leveling season 2 release date
One of the biggest news that comes with this trailer is that A-1 Pictures will only make 13 episodes in Solo Leveling season 2, which maintains a similar production to what the first one had (12 episodes). The trailer also confirmed that this season is coming out on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 12 am JST, shown through Tokyo MX in Japan and Crunchyroll worldwide.
It was also revealed here that the ending song will be "UN-APEX" by Toru Kitajima, also known as TK, TK from Ling Tosite Sigure rock trio. This is coupled with the release of the Solo Leveling -Reawakening film, which came out in late November and serves as a recap of the first season while showing the first two episodes of the second one.
Some fans have also pointed out how this trailer reveals a lot of key information beyond the events of the Red Gate arc, considering what happened in the first season. Solo Leveling season 2 will show how the protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, is going to become the Shadow Monarch, arguably the most important event in the series.
What is going to happen in the second season
The first portion of the second season is going to focus on the aforementioned Red Gate arc, which has the protagonist helping Han Song-Yi, a newbie E-Rank Hunter, and one of his sister's friends, to understand the dangers of hunting. However, when they enter what seems to be a regular gate, it turns out that it is a Red one, which means they have to beat this dangerous Dungeon to get out or die in the attempt.
The trailer also revealed that Sung Jin-woo makes the Architect's Final Trial and succeeds at it, becoming the Shadow Monarch by obtaining the Black Heart. This will also represent the introduction of Ashborn in this anime adaptation.
