Sorairo Utility anime announces January 2025 release date and opening theme with new PV

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the Sorairo Utility anime unveiled a new promotional video to confirm the show's January 4, 2025, release date. The short clip has also revealed and previewed the anime's opening theme song. The full broadcast information has been shared.

Sorairo Utility anime serves as a continuation of the original television short anime released in December 2021. Yostar Pictures produced the original one-off special episode, which ran for 14 minutes on December 31, 2021, on the Tokyo MX channel in Japan. Crunchyroll streams the special episode outside Asia.

Sorairo Utility anime's new PV confirms the January 4, 2025, release date

The official staff, including Yostar Pictures and Pony Canyon, shared the third promotional video on Sunday, December 15, 2024, to reveal that Sorairo Utility anime will be released on January 4, 2025.

According to the broadcast information, Sorairo Utility anime will air its episodes every Saturday, from 1 am JST, on Tokyo MX, starting January 4, 2025 (stylized as January 3, 2025, from 25:00 JST). The sports anime will also be telecast on TV Kanagawa from January 5, 2025, at 1:30 am JST.

Besides these channels, fans in Japan can watch the anime on MBS every Saturday from 3:38 am JST, starting January 5, 2025. AT-X will also stream the series every Tuesday at 10 pm JST, starting January 7, 2025. Additionally, the anime will air on BS Asahi every Sunday from 11:30 pm JST, starting January 5, 2025.

Apart from these channels, the anime will be available on multiple streaming services, including d Anime Store, Bandai Channel, DMM TV, ABEMA, Hulu, Lemino, and others. International fans from selected regions can stream the series on HIDIVE, Aniverse, ADN, and other services.

The latest Sorairo Utility anime trailer features the main protagonist, Minami Aoba, meeting the genius golfer, Haruka Akane. Following that, she meets Ayaka Hoshimi, who aspires to be an influencer through golf. However, she struggles to find something special.

Notably, the short clip contains a snippet from the series' opening theme song, Be the Hero feat. Airi Suzuki by Masayoshi Oishi. According to the official staff, Masayoshi-san has written the lyrics, composed, and arranged the opening theme song for the series.

A comment from Masayoshi Oishi has arrived on the anime's site, where the artist reveals how he invited Airi Suzuki, whose parents are professional golfers, to perform in the song with him. Notably, Masayoshi Oishi and Airi Suzuki have been working together on a TV Asahi's program since 2021.

The sports anime stars Miyu Takagi as Minami Aoba, Ayasa Goto as Ayaka Hoshimi, Yurina Amami as Haruka Akane, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Tetsuhiro Tanaka, Kenyu Horiuchi as Chosuke, Yumiri Hanamori as Izumi, and Kazuhiko Inoue as Masao.

Kengo Saito returns to direct the series and design the characters at Yostar Pictures. He is also writing the scripts with the supervisor, Yu Sato. Aki Mizuki and Kota Nozomi, who wrote the script for the previous special anime, is working on the original script.

Sorairo Utility anime follows Minami Aoba, who wonders whether it's fine for her to end her high school life as an "ordinary supporting character." As she leaves her school to search for something unique, she enters the fascinating world of golf.
