The Spirit Chronicles season 2's official website and X account shared the main promotional video to reveal that the sequel will premiere on October 8, 2024. The short video, shared on Thursday, September 12, 2024, also previewed the opening theme song.

TMS Entertainment has produced Spirit Chronicles season 2, which is a sequel to Spirit Chronicles. The first season aired 12 episodes from July 2021 to September 2021. While Yuri Kitayama wrote the light novel series the show is based on, Riv was the illustrator. Hobby Japan serializes the novels, with 25 volumes released thus far.

The anime's official site and X account shared the main promotional video on Thursday, September 12, 2024. According to the short clip, Spirit Chronicles season 2 will premiere on October 8, 2024.

Broadcast details have also arrived, according to which the Spirit Chronicles season 2 will air its episodes every Monday on TV Tokyo starting on October 8, 2024, at 1:30 am JST (stylized as 25:30 JST, October 7, 2024).

Besides TV Tokyo, the Isekai fantasy anime will air on BS Fuji every Wednesday, from 12:30 am JST, from October 10, 2024. Moreover, Japanese fans can catch the anime on AT-X every Friday at 10 pm JST, starting October 11, 2024.

DMM TV, ABEMA, U-NEXT, d Anime Store, TELASA, Lemino, Hulu, Netflix, and other streaming services have acquired the digital distribution rights for the anime. Crunchyroll streamed the first season for international audiences as it aired in Japan.

Notably, the PV features Rio, Celia, and other important characters, and teases the sequel's plot. Rio reveals he needs to do something important, for which he requires more strength. The PV also previews the opening song Auftakt, performed by Aguri Onishi. Nakawa Suwa performs the ending theme, Harumachi Uta.

The sequel features returning cast members, with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka reprising his role as Rio, Akane Fujita as Celia Claire, Sayaka Harada as Miharu Ayase, Tomori Kusunoki as Latifa, and others.

The official staff has announced new cast members for the sequel, who are Marika Kono as Aki Sendo, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Hiroaki Sakata, Aguri Onishi as Masato Sendo, Haruka Tomatsu as Satsuki Sumeragi, and Ayahi Takagaki as Aria.

Hiroshi Kubo directs Spirit Chronicles season 2 at TMS Entertainment, with Osamu Yamasaki as the supervisor and scriptwriter. Mitsutaka Hirota, Yoshiko Nakamura, and Megumu Sasano are also in charge of the anime's scripts. Kyoko Yufu returns as the character designer, while Yasuyuki Yamazaki is credited as the music composer.

Based on Yuri Kitayama's light novels, the series centers around Rio, an orphaned boy, who realizes at seven that he's the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a dark past. He also learns about his unique powers, which he uses to save the kidnapped princess of the Bertram Kingdom.

Pleased by his benevolent deed, the King enrolls the boy into the Bertram Royal Academy, a prestigious academy for noble children. Spirit Chronicles season 2 will likely show Rio exploring more of his powers and creating more bonds with others.
