On Friday, December 20, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the Summer Pockets anime announced that the series will premiere in April 2025. Additionally, the staff streamed the non-credit version of the show's opening theme sequence.

Under the production of Studio Feel, Summer Pockets anime is based on Visual Arts/Key and Prototype's eponymous visual novel. The game was initially released for PC in June 2018. Later, the company launched a Nintendo Switch version in June 2019 in physical and digital formats.


Summer Pockets anime set to debut in April 2025

According to the latest information from the official staff on Friday, December 20, 2024, Summer Pockets anime will be released in April 2025. However, the staff has yet to reveal an exact release date.

Along with the release window's information, the staff has released the non-credit opening theme sequence for the Summer Pockets anime. Accompanied by Konomi Suzuki's ALKA TALE song, the video features Shiroha, Ao, and other important characters from the series.

The anime's official website also announced that the franchise will launch a manga spin-off on Kadokawa's Dengeki Moeoh magazine and KadoComi site. More information about the manga spin-off series and its serialization will be revealed in the February 2025 issue of Dengeki Moeoh magazine. on December 27, 2024.


Cast and staff for the Summer Pockets anime

Shōya Chiba stars as Hairi Takahara, while Konomi Kohara voices Shiroha Naruse. Nene Hieda plays Kamome's role, while Natsumi Takamori voices Aoi Sorakado. Saku Ichimiya has joined the voice cast as Miki Nomura, while Emiri Iwai stars as Tsumugi Wenders.

Other cast members include Megumi Takamoto as Kyoko Misaki, Sahomi Koyama as Shizuku Mizuori, Aimi Tanaka as Umi Kato, Minoru Shiraishi as Kobato Naruse, Kentaro Kumagai as Ryoichi Mitani, Konomi Suzuki as Inari, and Yohei Hamada as Tezen Kano.

Tomoki Kobayashi directs the series at Studio Feel, with Keiichiro Ochi supervising the scripts and series composition. Mai Otsuka is enlisted as the character designer. Shuhei Ohashi, Shinji Orito, Donmaru, Jun Maeda, Ryo Mizutsuki, and Tomohiro Takeshita are credited as the music composers.

Other staff members include Sari Tagawa as the color designer, Teruaki Tokumaru as the special animation director, Shunichiro Yoshihara as the art director, Rumi Maruyama as the editor, Ryosume Naya as the sound director, among others. Konomi Suzuki, who has previously performed the visual novel's theme songs, has sung the ending theme, Lasting Moment.

The narrative for the Summer Pockets anime follows Hairi Takahara, a high school student, who goes to a summer retreat at the Torishirojima island to sort out his late grandmother's belongings. However, as he interacts with different people on the island, his life and worldview changes.
