Monday, June 24, 2024, saw anime streaming service It’s Anime! announce that SEEC’s Tasokare Hotel mobile game is set to receive a television anime adaptation in January 2025. In addition to the confirmation of the series’ production and release window, the streaming service also confirmed the production’s main cast and staff, as well as releasing a promotional video and key visual.
The roughly 90-second-long trailer for the Tasokare Hotel anime begins by acknowledging the franchise’s history with its 2017 and 2022 game releases. The trailer then shifts focus to the anime production, introducing protagonist Neko Tsukahara and seeing her discover the titular lodge. After speaking to those there, she learns it’s a place where souls stuck in limbo can rest until finally moving on from the world.
Tasokare Hotel anime adaptation confirmed, set up as the next chapter in the franchise’s history
The Tasokare Hotel anime’s cast includes Rika Momokawa as the aforementioned Neko Tsukahara, Kodai Sakai as Atori Haruto, Yusuke Shirai as Masaki Osoto, Kanehira Yamamoto as the hotel manager, Yuki Nagano as Ruri, Natsue Sasamoto as Menow, and Takashi Narumi as Kiriko.
Kosuke Kuremizu is directing the anime at PRA studios, with Yuko Hariba in charge of character and costume design. Hariba is also one of the chief animation directors, with others in that role specifically including Minefumi Harada, Yuki Yabuta, and Fumiya Uehara. Additional staff includes:

The anime’s story is described as:
“'TASOKARE HOTEL' is a hotel that is engulfed in twilight all day long, with no distinction between day and night. It exists as a place between life and death, where souls unable to decide whether to move on to the afterlife or return to the present world can rest their wings.
It continues:
"The protagonist, Neko Tsukahara, wanders into 'TASOKARE HOTEL' without remembering who she is or why she's there. Guided by the hotel staff, she is led to her room. 'There should be items related to the customer's memories in the room. These might serve as clues to help the customer regain their memories.'"
It ends with:
"While searching for a way to return to the present world and remembering who she is, she encounters a certain incident…”
The original Tasokare Hotel game launched for iOS and Android in 2017, with over 1.1 million global downloads. The sequel game titled Re:newal launched for the same platforms in Japan in December 2022. The game’s original author Benoma Ray and concept creator SEEC have stated that the anime version will “add unique charm only possible in this medium” and “bring new surprises and emotions even to fans of the original [game].”
