Wednesday, October 25, 2023, saw Crunchyroll reveal that it will stream the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime OVA (original video animation) on its platform later this month. The official title of the OVA is Coleus’ Dream, and Crunchyroll has also released an official trailer for the same.
The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime OVA is set to release in Japan on broadcast television on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, with all three episodes. In other words, Crunchyroll will be simulcasting the OVA as it airs in Japan, which is a fairly rare occurrence for anime specials and OVAs in general.
The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime OVA is an adaptation of a text story of the same name included in a bonus extra booklet with the second season's Blu-ray Disc release. The story is set in between the first and second seasons of the mainline series and served as a major story inspiration for the Scarlet Bond film.

As mentioned above, Crunchyroll confirmed that they will be streaming the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime OVA as a simulcast release. The OVA will become available on their platform on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 11 am Pacific Daylight Time. This will coincide with the OVA's broadcast premiere on Japanese network television.
Atsushi Nakayama is returning as the director for the OVA at 8-Bit studios. Toshizo Nemoto is in charge of series composition, with Roma Ebata once again designing characters, and Takahiro Kishida returning to design monsters. Hitoshi Fujima returns from the aforementioned Scarlet Bond film to compose the music for the OVA.
Takuma Terashima, the voice of Satoru, will perform the OVA's opening theme and has done so for the series in the past as well. Miho Okasaki, the voice of Rimuru, will also be lending their talents to the OVA for its ending theme song. Crunchyroll's description of the OVA's story reads:
"Rimuru has saved the children he was teaching in the Kingdom of Engrassia, and his time as a teacher is nearly over. Then Yuuki, Grandmaster of the Free Union, asks him to get to the bottom of the race for the throne in the Kingdom of Coleus, which is located between Engrassia and the Holy Empire of Lubelius."
It continues:
"So Rimuru infiltrates Coleus under the name "Satoru," and he finds a nation at the mercy of not only a battle for succession, but a web of schemes woven by demons and vampires!"
