On Friday, September 27, 2024, the official staff shared an announcement PV and visual after season 3's finale to announce the production of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4 and the franchise's second film. However, no release information was revealed.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime is based on Fuse (author) and Mitz Vah's (illustrator) eponymous Japanese light novel series. Fuse launched the series as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2013. Later, Micro Magazine acquired the rights to publish the light novels under the GC Novels imprint. The light novels have also inspired a manga adaptation with Taiki Kawakami's illustrations.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4 and 2nd movie officially confirmed with a PV and visual
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4 and the second movie of the franchise have been green-lit for production. The website and X account for the franchise announced this with a production announcement illustration and promotional video, after the broadcast of season 3's final episode on Friday, September 27, 2024.
The announcement PV featured Rimuru Tempest holding a meeting with his executives at the Tempest Manor to announce the production of the second movie. Shortly after his announcement, Rimuru's Great Sage added that the series has been renewed for a fourth season.
Aside from the promotional clip, the official staff has unveiled an announcement illustration, featuring Rimuru Tempest. The visual depicts the Demon Lord's determined expression, as his eyes are given a lot of emphasis.
However, the staff didn't reveal the release information for either the fourth season or the second movie. Additionally, no details on the cast or staff members were revealed either. However, the previous cast members are expected to reprise their roles in the fourth season.
Miho Okasaki stars as Rimuru Tempest, while Megumi Toyoguchi voices the Great Sage. Takahiro Sakurai plays the role of Diablo, while Manami Numakura voices Hinata Sakaguchi. Chikahiro Kobayashi plays Ranga, while Takuya Eguchi stars as Soei. While it's not confirmed, 8Bit studios is expected to produce the series again, considering the studio was in charge of the previous installments' production.
What to expect in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4?
Since the recently concluded installment (season 3) covered The Saint and the Monster Arc, Territory Seizure Arc, and Opening of the Monster City Arc (The Founder's Festival Arc) from Fuse's light novel series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4 will likely pick up the adaptation from The Majin Behind The Scenes Arc.
As such, fans can expect That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4 to show Rimuru Tempest and his executives facing a fearsome Demon Lord, who wants to take down an Otherworlder under Rimuru's care. Additionally, the upcoming installment could witness the adaptation of Awakening of the Chosen Hero Arc and The Eve of the War Arc.
