The Barbarian's Bride anime announced for 2025

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Kadokawa confirmed the production of The Barbarian's Bride anime with the release of a teaser promotional video. The fantasy comedy anime is set to premiere in 2025. Along with the PV, the staff unveiled a teaser visual. No further details regarding the anime were announced.

The Barbarian's Bride anime is based on the eponymous Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Noriaki Kotoba. Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine has been serializing the manga since January 2021.

Seven volumes have been published thus far, with the eighth volume slated to release on October 8, 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the fantasy comedy manga in English.

The Barbarian's Bride anime's teaser PV confirms the 2025 release window

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Kadokawa's official YouTube channel streamed a teaser promotional video confirming the production of The Barbarian's Bride anime, based on Noriaki Kotoba's fantasy comedy manga series.

According to the announcement, the anime will premiere in 2025. However, no exact release date has been disclosed yet. Notably, the official staff has opened a new website and X account to share anime adaptation's news with fans.

The first promotional clip features panels from the manga series in moving animation and contains the teaser visual for The Barbarian's Bride. The illustration, shared separately by the staff, depicts the main heroine, Serafina de Lavillant. As the kingdom's strongest knight, she faces off against Veor's forces.

Along with this announcement, the official staff shared a special illustration and comment from the original author, Noriaki Kotoba, to commemorate the anime adaptation. Noriaki Kotoba's comments in Japanese, when translated to English, read as follows:

"Thanks to everyone's support, something amazing has happened! I hope you'll look forward to seeing Serah moving and talking!"

About The Barbarian's Bride anime

Based on Noriaki Kotoba's manga, The Barbarian's Bride anime follows the story of Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest female knight in the Western Kingdom of Ildren. For hundreds of years, the forces of the Illdren Kingdom have been on a mission to conquer the barbarians in the east.

Being the strongest, Serafina goes to subjugate the barbaric tribes. However, she fails to conquer her foes and gets captured alive. Imprisoned, humiliated, and dreading the type of horrific torture that will ensue, Serafina wishes to die.

Yet, rather than eliminating her, the Barbarian's leader, Veol, wants Serafina to be his bride. Although she refuses the offer with a strong will, she develops a change of heart once she discovers the different side of Veol and the barbaric tribe.
