Along with this announcement, the official staff announced the main cast for The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess anime. Yoshino Aoyama stars as Iana Magnolia, the "villainess" of the series. Aoyama-san has previously voiced Hitomi Goto in Bocchi the Rock!!, Nonoa in Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, and other characters.

Yoshino-san is joined by M.A.O, the renowned actor, who voices Iana's elder sister, Konoha Magnolia. Besides them, the main cast includes Shohei Komatsu as Sol Nemophila and Makoto Furukawa as Ginoford Dandelion. Notably, the anime's X account has shared comments from the respective voice actors.

Based on Akiharu Toka's Isekai romance-fantasy manga, The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess anime follows the story of Konoha Sato, a working adult, who is reincarnated into the world of a self-indulgent fantasy novel she once wrote as a middle-school student.

Interestingly, Konoha Sato reincarnates not as Konoha Magnolia, the benevolent heroine and the daughter of an earl, but as her younger sister, Iana Magnolia, the villainess of the story. Since she's the villainess, Konoha Sato must learn to evade the death flags.
