The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Pony Canyon confirmed on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the production of The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime, based on Aki Shimizu's eponymous spin-off manga series. The staff unveiled a teaser visual and announced that the show would be released in 2025.

The visual features the main heroine, Kana Kusakabe, and her Japanese teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji. Shortly after the announcement, the official staff opened a new website and X account to share the news with fans. Additionally, a celebratory visual and comment from the original author, Aki Shimizu, have arrived.

The drawn illustration features the main duo, Kana Kusakabe and Akihiko Chuzenji. Regarding The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei anime, Shimizu-san has expressed their disbelief. The author is honored, and as a viewer, they look forward to the adaptation.

Masahiko Suzuki has joined the staff as the character designer.

Although the staff hasn't provided an official synopsis for the mystery anime yet, the show will likely follow the narrative written by Aki Shimizu. The story centers around Kana Kusakabe, a female student, who encounters her newly appointed Japanese teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji.
